Our responsibility as a B Corp

AEGIR-Marine is now a Certified B Corporation
We are proud to share that AEGIR-Marine is now a Certified B Corporation (B Corp). This reflects who we are as a company. It means balancing profit with purpose. Caring for our people. And taking responsibility for the impact we have on the world.

Why is B Corp important?

We applied for B Corp certification because we wanted to measure ourselves against the highest standards for responsibility and transparency. For years, we have believed that long-term success in maritime depends not only on strong products and services, but also on how we operate.

Applying for B Corp was a no-brainer: a way to test our progress, hold ourselves accountable, and commit to continuous improvement.

“B Corp is not the finish line. It’s just a step forward on our journey.”

Explainer: what actually is a B Corp?

B Corps are businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. Certification is awarded by the nonprofit B Lab. They reviewed our entire company – not just one product or department. Their assessment looked at how we treat our employees, how we work with customers and communities, how we manage our environmental impact, and how we run our organisation.

The impact for the maritime and shipping industry
Shipping is vital to the world economy, but it also faces big sustainability challenges. As the first B Corp in the maritime service sector, we don’t see ourselves as a winner, but as an example we hope others will follow.

The impact on our supply chain?
Our responsibility doesn’t stop with our own actions. B Corp certification also challenges us to look at the impact of our supply chain. That means working with partners and suppliers who share our values and constantly asking how we can do better together.

What’s next?
Our goal is not only to keep improving ourselves but also to encourage our industry to make positive changes – for people, for the planet, and for the future of the shipping industry.

“Together, we can move maritime towards a more sustainable future.”
